Nine Ceramic Lucky Cats (Maneki Neko Family)

This cute family of 9 multi-coloured lucky cats (Maneki Neko) feature lots of detail and are finished with golden bells around their necks. The set features 5 big cats and 4 baby cats. The Lucky Cats (in blue, pink, purple, yellow and orange) are arranged on a lacquer-look stand next to a sign that says 'Nine Fortune Cats' in Chinese Characters. Each of the large cats is approximately 4cm tall.

Each cat is in a different pose; with either left right or both paws raised. It is most commonly believe that cats with their right paw raised, beckon customers, whilst those with their left paw raised bring wealth and good luck.

Lucky Cats are also known as Maneki Neko, Beckoning Cats, Welcoming Cats, Techno Cats, Money Cats or Fortune Cats. They are a popular cultural icon in the Far East, where they often sit at the entrances of businesses to beckon custom and money.
