This pretty and colourful paper scroll features a dynamic dragon chasing a flaming pearl above crashing waves. Perfect as a wall hanging to decorate any room in the home, it also make a lovely gift for anyone who has an interest in Chinese mythology.

The scroll is made from paper, fastened together with many white threads and decorative orange threads on the outer edges. The scroll is both held up and weighed down straight by wooden batons at the top and bottom, which have been painted reddish-brown. The scroll may be hung up by the silky yellow ribbon threaded into the top baton.

In Chinese folklore, the Dragon is an extremely powerful creature that is said to symbolise auspicious power. As a Yang force, the Dragon is often pictured with its Yin counterpart; the Phoenix. The dragon is seen as being so powerful that it can control the weather, and is in particular associated with water as the bringer of rain.
